As we approach move-out week , it is time to get ready for the Give and Go program. This year the event will take place from May 4-7th.
Give and Go aims to reduce the amount of recyclable goods that go into the waste stream during move-out by setting up tent locations to collect items that can be recycled and donated to local non-profits. The program has three main goals:
1. To reduce the amount of waste removed from campus during the week of move-out.
2. To create involvement opportunities and streamline donation procedures for students.
3. To assist local agencies with the goods collected.
More background and information can be found here.
We are looking for volunteers to help support this initiative. Please pass along this opportunity to any students who may be looking for some last minute service hours. I also hope that you will consider volunteering a few hours of your time to assist with tent sites or sorting of donations. The department has always been a great support of this initiative and I hope to see you all there!
