AsACC 2016 Scholarship Winners

AsACC 2016 Scholarship Winners

The Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC) is very pleased to announce our scholarship winners for 2016.  The winners were recognized at the AsACC Senior Night & Awards Banquet on Sunday 4/24/16.

The UCONN AsACC Endowment Fund Scholarship is a renewable $1000 per year award, payable up to four years or until the student successfully completes his/her undergraduate requirements for graduation, provided all criteria are met each year.  Thanks to the generous support of our donors, this year’s AsACC Endowment Fund was able to recognize two students for their demonstrated involvement and leadership in AsACC and the Asian/Asian American community.  Congratulations to KIANA CAO and CASSIE ZHANG.

The Asiantation Mentoring Program (AMP), AsACC’s award-winning peer mentoring program, awards $250 annually to the AMP Mentor and AMP Mentee of the Year.  The 2016 AMP Mentor of the Year is ISABELLE HOU and the 2016 AMP Mentee of the Year is FUDI XU.

The ISA (Indian Students Association) Memorial Fund Scholarship, was originally created by Prof. Devendra Kalonia and Shilpa Radia to support a UConn student(s) who made an outstanding contribution to intercultural understanding.  The scholarship is a one-time award of $1000.  For 2016, the fund was able to award two scholarships – TARIF BROWN and RAVNEET GILL.
