It is exciting to see the progress being made on Next Gen Residence Hall, which is on schedule to open this fall. We expect to begin moving in furniture at the end of July, in plenty of time for the arrival of students at the end of August. This residence hall will house 724 residents in eight living learning communities. Each of these communities will have a community room devoted to their use. ALL resident floors have study rooms and lounges, double and single resident rooms, community bathrooms, and a gender inclusive bathroom. The main floor has a large living room, an event space and an idea center. This building also contains a maker space, the first ever in a residential building on the Storrs campus.
