C. Dennis Pierce Wins Silver Plate Award

C. Dennis Pierce, Executive Director of UConn Dining Services has been honored with a Silver Plate Award from International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA).

As the Oscars are for the film industry and as the James Beard Awards are for culinary, the Gold & Silver Plate Awards are the academy awards of foodservice. The annual IFMA Gold & Silver Plate Awards enables the industry to honor the nation’s top foodservice operator talent.

Silver Plate winners are nominated by IFMA members and industry leaders, then selected by a distinguished jury including national trade press, foodservice experts and past Gold and Silver Plate award winners. From the Silver Plate winners, one is chosen by the jury to receive the industry’s most prestigious recognition, IFMA’s 2017 Gold Plate Award, revealed at the Gold & Silver Plate dinner celebration in May. The celebration, which honors the nation’s most prestigious operator talent, is hosted by the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) every year in Chicago.

Dennis Pierce has been with UConn Dining Services for 30 years and has won numerous awards for his exemplary service and dedication to UConn.
