Residential Life Welcomes Kimberley Hendricks

The Department of Residential Life is pleased to announce that Kimberley (Kym) Hendricks has accepted our Assistant Director of Residence Education position and will be starting on Friday, July 20, 2018.

Kym earned her Master’s Degree in Sport Management in 2009 from Springfield College and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Spanish (double major) from Merrimack College in 2007.  Kym also served as an RA for 3 three years while at Merrimack.  She is joining us after nine years serving in different capacities at Western New England University (formerly known as Western New England College):  Assistant Director of Residence Life for Programming and Graduate Housing, Area Coordinator for Traditional Housing and Residence Hall Director.

During her tenure at Western New England, she was responsible for coordinating and managing the following duties: supervision of Residence Hall Directors, programmatic series for undergraduate students living in the residence halls, RA Selection, RA Training and Development, and was one of the principal architecture for the creation/implementation of their residential curriculum.  Prior to Western New England, she served as a Graduate Hall Director at Springfield College.

When asked to share a fun fact to offer to future colleagues, Kym shared her love: “her favorite place to vacation is Las Vegas.”  In addition, she loves sports, specifically the (newly crowned Stanley Cup Champion!) Washington Capitals, the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.”  She is thrilled to become a member and to get to know students, faculty, staff, etc. at UConn.
