We are pleased to announce that Chetan Joshi, Ph.D., has agreed to serve as the Interim Director of Mental Health for Student Health and Wellness. Dr. Joshi brings over 15 years of experience in higher education. He obtained a master’s degree in pharmacology and a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Chetan served as a staff psychologist and the coordinator of disability services at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. In 2013, Chetan was hired as the assistant director and clinical coordinator for Counseling and Mental Health (CMHS) at UConn, where he has since been promoted to the associate director and the director of clinical services. Chetan is originally from India and has spent the last 20 years in the United States.
Chetan has extensive knowledge of the mental health day-to-day functions and clinical systems, and he is dedicated to improving access to treatment for minority and traditionally under-served student groups.
