I am very pleased to announce that Isaac Barber will be joining the Student Union team as the Associate Director for Event Services.
Isaac currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Center Operations at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. This includes oversight of the operations areas: reservations and scheduling; event set-ups; technology support; on-site customer service; and maintenance operations. He supervises 16 full-time staff, including staff represented by labor unions, as well as 30 part-time student staff. Prior to Ball State, Isaac served as the Assistant Director for Event Planning at Virginia Tech where he had similar responsibilities, including serving as the campus EMS (reservations software) administrator.
Isaac has extensive experience developing and implementing student leadership programs, as well as FEMA certificates in areas concerning emergency procedures and risk management. He also has in-depth experience in mediation facilitation (conciliatory, restorative, and conflict resolution) as well as training as a Mentor for Violence Prevention, focusing on bystander intervention techniques. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Education from Virginia Tech. He also received his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Virginia Tech, after completing his first two years at Louisiana Tech.
