I wanted to take a moment and announce our new (transfer) employee in the Office of Student Care and Concern, Marci Schneider. Marci has been working in Community Standards since February 2019, where she served as a Program Assistant. She has just been reassigned to the Office of Student Care and Concern effective Friday, February 21, as the Program Assistant for this newly formed office.
Marci has been at UConn for the past year and a half as the Program Assistant in Community Standards. Her prior UConn experience was in the Registrar’s Office. She has over 10 years of experience in the higher education and student affairs and mental health fields combined.
Prior to coming to UConn, Marci worked in the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity at the University of South Carolina as the Behavioral Intervention Team Case Manager. She is excited to be working with students one-on-one again in this new role with the Student Care Team. Marci earned her M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina. She is also a proud UConn alum (B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies/Psychology) and is thrilled to continue working at her alma mater.
As the Program Assistant for Student Care and Concern, Marci will be in charge of all of the administrative functions of the office, as well as managing cases as a case manager for the Care Team. She has been the administrative Care Team support person since July and will continue to support the Care Team and the new office in a larger role. Given that she has had prior experience on a behavioral intervention team in her role at the University of South Carolina and has recently supported case managers here at UConn, this will be an easy transition for her. The Office of Student Care and Concern is excited to have her 100%.
Please join me in welcoming Marci to the office!
